The Senior Advisor, Information Services (IS) Business Planning, is responsible for providing strategic and operational support services to the Director of Information Services, with respect to the development, implementation and coordination of the requirements of the entire Directorate in various areas such as strategic and operational planning, the development and maintenance of the IS road map, and the planning and implementation of various projects assigned by the Director. The incumbent plays a pivotal role in the analysis and ongoing evolution of management activities and related resources allocated to Senate IT projects and services to identify risks and gaps in project and program results and objectives, as well as in the development of risk mitigation strategies and plans to assist the Directorate in executing its IT plans for the Senate.

• University degree from a recognized institution in Information Technology OR acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience;• At least three (3) years of professional experience with IT services such as systems, infrastructure elements and key technologies;• Demonstrated experience in the principles, methods, techniques and practices associated with the concepts of risk management, strategic planning and accountability;• Ability to demonstrate sound tact and diplomacy;• Experience in developing strategic quality assurance service standards, performance measures and monitoring mechanisms;• Experience in leading and managing various projects, activities and initiatives with minimal supervision;• Ability to deliver presentations to groups including the IT team, senior management, and senators;• Ability to produce high quality written documents;• Detail oriented and well organized with the ability to creatively manage competing priorities and short timelines;• Excellent customer service skills;• Preference will be given to candidates with experience working on Parliament Hill.
