The Team Lead, Outreach is responsible for developing and implementing various in-person and virtual outreach activities aimed at enhancing the visibility of the work being done in the Senate and by senators. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Senate’s youth outreach program, SENgage.Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will coordinate the work of three (3) Senate Events Coordinators. The successful candidate will also work closely with senators and their staff, all the teams within the Communications Directorate, as well as various other departments of the Senate Administration.
The general public to staff one (1) permanent (full-time) position in the Communications Directorate. • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field of study, OR an acceptable combination of education and experience;• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the communications or event coordination field;• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in the context of communications and event planning;• Experience in the development of client communications services in areas of content development and stakeholder engagement as well as planning events; • Extensive knowledge of the theories, principles, methods and industry best practices pertaining to communications and event planning;• Knowledge of Parliament and the Canadian political landscape;• Experience in a legislative environment considered an asset;• Experience developing educational content and products considered an asset;• Experience supervising a team in program delivery considered an asset.
