As the Program Coordinator, Use of Hill Committee you will be the first point of contact to the general public for processing use of hill requests and communicating these with internal and external service partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a centralized service for the collection and processing of information relating to events and requests for decision-making by the co-chaired Senate & House of Commons Use of Hill Committee. You will also be analyzing and managing records of events and decisions. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for monitoring, planning and creating effective processes in support of the administration of the Committee.
Open to both indeterminate and determinate employees on Parliament Hill including The Senate of Canada, House of Commons, Parliamentary Protective Service and the Library of Parliament to staff one (1) indeterminate position in the Corporate Security Directorate.
• Successful completion of a post-secondary program in a relevant field OR a comparable combination of education and experience;• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience coordinating events and corresponding with a high volume of external entities such as the general public while maintaining collaborative work relationships with internal services, external stakeholders;• Experience in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, processes and service standards;• Knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations as they relate to security processes, protocols and procedures;• Knowledge of the administrative processes, methods, practices and technology tools/systems needed to coordinate requests;• Knowledge of information systems and control mechanisms to receive, validate and authorize Parliamentary Precinct access;• Knowledge of the methods, practices and tools used in project administration, including a variety of office business software (e.g. word processing spreadsheet database presentations electronic mail project management);• Demonstrated ability to deliver a client centric service while applying interpersonal skills;• Ability to effectively organize, coordinate and manage a high volume of data with accuracy and precision.
