The Translator assists to ensure the integrity of ISG communications (internal and external) in both official languages. He has a sound understanding of modern communications and looks for opportunities to share the ISG message for a modern Senate in new and engaging ways.More specifically, the position is required to:-Translate the most urgent, complex and important texts which require a high level of quality;-Carry out particularly complex terminological research and analysis in different areas; -Revise a variety of texts translated by other translators or verifying the quality as required;-Verify the quality of a variety of terminological research conducted by team members;-Carry out simultaneous or consecutive interpretation of the proceedings of Parliament, commissions, conferences and meetings involving government departments and agencies;- Revise, edit and update texts in both official languages and keep track of translation requests;- Provide administrative and communications support (information output, media requests coordination and distribution, etc.);- Draft press releases and op-eds;- Maintain social media, i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and ISG's website etc.; - Review news media and prepare background information to ensure that the Secretariat is kept abreast of mounting issues and of areas of possible interest or concern
-Bachelor's degree in translation or Master's degree in legal translation from a recognized university, Certified Translator according to a recognized institution and/or a combination of education, training and experience.-Experience as a fully independent translator for at least the past three years;-Experience in text editing and review in both official languages;-Experience in drafting news releases;-Experience in monitoring media and preparation of information summaries; and-Experience with social media platforms.Language requirement: Bilingual Imperative
