How will you contribute?

As an integral part of the operations team in the Senate Administration’s Property and Services Directorate, the Electronic Printing Specialist operates highly sophisticated copying equipment to copy official Senate documents sent electronically by Senate clients, as well as providing a bindery service for these documents.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Printing Services, the incumbent engraves brass and plastic plaques, uses specialized equipment to prepare cheques, maps, committee reports and posters for Senate special events, collects, prepare and/or drop off finished work and performs daily maintenance on equipment and ensures the repair of equipment as required.

The general public to staff one (1) permanent sessional position (full-time) in the Property and Services Directorate. This selection process may be used to staff other similar positions in the future.


• Successful completion of secondary school education or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;
• Experience in setting up printing jobs, operating and maintaining equipment and selecting material to suit work requirements;
• Knowledge of Adobe InDesign for creating and modifying electronically business cards, sympathy cards, and personalized cards, etc.;
• Knowledge of industry standards, methods and products needed to deliver printing services;
• Knowledge of computers, software packages and websites used in the electronic transmittal of documents to respond to client requests for photocopying;
• Ability to prioritize tasks, duties and to work on multiple activities under tight deadlines;
• Experience in the parliamentary environment would be considered an asset.
