As the Organizational Design & Classification Advisor, you will provide organizational design, job evaluation and classification services for both unionized and unrepresented positions across the Senate. You will conduct a full-scale review of the Senate's classification program (including the review of the governance and service delivery model, procedures, practices and tools) to identify efficiencies and opportunities to streamline and modernize operations. You will conduct organizational reviews to identify and resolve classification anomalies leading the classification committees according to the established protocols. Communication skills are important as you will partner with a wide variety of stakeholders to prepare, investigate, research and defend classification grievances and make recommendations for organizational design to build capabilities and structures needed to support the execution of the Senate's business strategy.

• Degree from a recognized university in Human Resources or in another discipline related to the duties of the position;• Significant experience in human resources, allowing to understand and apply the principles, standards, procedures, classification tools and practices;• Experience in job analysis and evaluation, writing job descriptions and writing rationales;• Experience leading classification committees and working with external partners and vendors;• Extensive experience in fostering and maintaining trust in relationships with clients;• Experience in providing services and advice on complex classification issues and organizational design to managers;• Experience in policy interpretation and dealing with sensitive, personal and confidential matters;• Ability to analyze complex classification issues and propose solutions;• Ability to develop practical and creative solutions that respond to business needs;• Knowledge of policies, guidelines and initiatives related to classification;• Experience in applying the Hay Job Evaluation Methodology in conducting job evaluations and classifications is considered an asset;• Human Resources professional designation (e.g., CHRP) and/or Classification Accreditation is considered an asset.
